Yared assists us with translating, distributions, and many other trip activities, along with becoming great friends with everyone on the team. Sponsorship goes beyond just provision, it’s a relationship.

  • Meet Terfe

    Terfe lives with her three children in the community of Korah. Her family came from the countryside. Selam, her oldest daughter, is 11 years old and dreams of becoming a teacher one day. Terfe also has 9-month old twins. Her husband is currently in prison and Terfe is in great need of food and house rent assistance.

  • Meet Tiruay

    Tiruay is single mom living with her 20 years old son, Habtamu. He is trained in wood work but has not found a job. Tiruye works at the trash dump near her village so that she and her son can afford their house rent for $35/month.

  • Meet Bekelech

    Bekelech is 50 years old and lives in Yirgalem, Ethiopia with her husband, two adult children and granddaughter. She works as a daily laborer as well as raises her granddaughter, Lidya. Lidya’s mother lives in a different city. Bekelech’s son tries to help support them but their limited income does not allow them to cover all of their needs, such as food.

  • Meet Tirusew

    Tirusew came to Entoto Mountain from the countryside with her husband, two children and one grandchild. They moved as a result of the civil war in Northern Ethiopia, after her home and property were destroyed. This family now makes a living by begging on the streets.

  • Meet Netsanet

    Netsanet used to work at a furniture shop and even had her own condo, but she was deceived by a group of people that took her condo away, and since then has struggled with mental instability. She has lived on Entoto Mountain for the past four years and severely struggles with a lack of food and no place to sleep.

  • Meet Sintayehu

    Sintayehu came to Entoto mountain 11 years ago for access to “holy water”, a foundation they believe heals disease. She suffers daily from epilepsy and because she has frequent seizures, she is unable to work. She takes medicine regularly and is in need of food support.

  • Meet Meselech

    Meselech is the mother of four children, but only lives with two of them. Her husband died of the measles about three years ago. Meselech became blind before having her three children due to an untreated illness. Because of her blindness, she fell while pregnant and that child of hers has developmental problems as well.
