COVID-19 Relief in Ethiopia

When we band together and commit to looking out for the poor, lives are changed. That is exactly what happens each month through your monthly giving.

Globally, we are navigating strange and confusing times as COVID-19 continues to spread.

Ethiopia has now reported 29 cases of coronavirus in the country and the Ethiopian government has gone to great lengths to help prevent a widespread amongst the nation.

Our staff shared that they even have a voice message sharing information about coronavirus that everyone hears before placing a phone call.

But despite their efforts to raise awareness, the more impoverished communities of Ethiopia lack the resources to be able to adequately prevent themselves and their families from catching the virus.

For those living in poverty, a lack of sanitizer leaves an entire family vulnerable, and a potential lockdown leaves millions without food provision.

Though we aren’t able to physically be there during this time, we are deeply encouraged by what we CAN accomplish through our Change Partner funds and local staff.

Because of your monthly support, we were able to give all 700+ families in our sponsorship program 4 bars of soap as well as a bottle of sanitizer for their home.

These items may not seem like much, but for a family without the means to afford soap that is repeatedly being told to wash their hands... this is a huge blessing!

Not only that, we were able to arrange for doctors to visit with each of our ministries so that our families could receive reliable information from experts, rather than relying on word-of-mouth in their villages.

All of these prevention efforts were made completely possible by our Change Partners. One of the reasons our Change Partner Fund exists is to give us the ability to respond to emergencies, or in this case, a pandemic.
